hello traveler,
heart in hand press was founded in the early days of the covid-19 pandemic, under lockdown in brooklyn, ny by matt fricano. originally intended as a space for a personal creative outlet, we are hoping to open a community space in a brick and mortar location in the near future. this currently acts as an online portfolio for matt’s work, but we hope to use it as a space for more artists as we establish a community in our new home. currently we are located in the germantown neighborhood of philadelphia.
matt fricano
matt’s illustration work is primarily derived from his interest in alchemy and mysticism. often incorporating the technique of stippling with a technical pen, his drawings can take dozens of hours, and contain millions of dots. this is as much a means to an ends on aesthetic grounds, as it is a personal meditation and way to connect to the subject matter at hand. He is currently working on two series—a series of larger images of gods and goddesses and another series of smaller images of saints and martyrs. here you’ll find images of his work, as well as a shop for prints and originals.
